Peshwa’s Katraj Lake
If you are planning to go for a nearby place or a garden then this would be a unique destination. Adjoining the Rajiv Gandhi snake park is the Katraj Lake which covers an area of around 40 acres of lake and garden. This lake was built by the Peshwa’s to supply drinking water for Pune. Surrounded by the lake is the garden. Quiet pleasant and romantic at the sunset. The view at the sunset is quiet nice.

Baneshwar
Baneshwar is on the way to Bhor. It is a conserve forest area and a well maintained wildlife sanctuary where a variety of birds, flowers, plants can be seen. It is worth visiting for nature lovers. The best time to visit is between August and February.

Panshet Dam
Water Sports consisting of kayaking, swimming, wind surfing, speed boats and water scooters are possible at water park which is the back water of the dam. You can reach the destination in just in 2 hours from swargate pune. If you wish to go for a stay, then there are many resorts with good service.

Khandala
The transport from base of Khopoli was by carts both hand pulled and horse drawn in the 18th century, but was tarred during British time somewhere in 1840 which gave rise to Khandala Hills Tourist Point. The twin hill resorts of Khandala and Lonavala have a special attraction seeking a convenient weekend holiday in the hills. Some of the points nearby Khandala are Tiger’s Leap, Duke’s Nose, Karla, Bhushi Lake, Amrutanjan Point, Bhaja Cave.

Lavasa
You would have a great long and romantic drive in this destination. Take a two wheeler along and it will be more adventurous to explore Lavasa. But this would be an expensive destination to travel if you are going there for a stay. Accommodation facilities are quite expensive. But a must visit destination for couples.

Mulshi
If you want to go for a long and romantic drive, then this is the place to be. The best time to visit is in the monsoons. But, the area is lush green and you can sit by the lake and enjoy the view in winters as well. If you want to have a light lunch or buy cold drinks, chips there a few shops in the area. Elephanta
The famous Elephanta caves is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is located on the Elephanta Island. The island is off the coast of Mumbai City in the Front Bay which is also called Gharapuri . The island can be visited via boat or ferry from the Gateway of India terminal at Colaba in Mumbai city with reasonable fares.
Distance: 170Km from Pune and 20km from Mumbai
Matheran
Matheran too has several lookout points that offer spellbinding views of the nearby horizon. The Panorama Point is one such point that gives a complete 360° view of the entire region around you. One may just fall in love with the surreal sunrise and sunset that can be seen from here. Matheran is an amazing hill station in Maharashtra – the smallest and the most popular.
